Travel Tips 101

Essentials for the plane journey and the adventure ahead.

I like to be prepared when I’m flying to a new destination and I’m sure many of you do too. If I could, I’d bring everything with me, but anything outside of the free baggage allowance is definitely not within my budget (I’d rather spend it on my actual holiday). If you’re a frequent flyer, you’d have a list of must-haves for the flight in your handbag/handcarry luggage. So this post is for those who don’t (but feel free to keep reading if you feel like you’re missing something all the time!).

Flights are a pain, but it’s the essential part to get to where you wanna be. So why not make it easier on yourself.

I get motion sickness a lot, but not to the extent where I’d puke. Just more of the nausea part. So I carry around a metholatum nasal inhaler with me most of the time. The scent of menthol helps with my queasy tummy, so for those of you who don’t travel well either, give it a go and let me know if it helps!

I cannot stress how important #hydration is, especially for long-haul flights. The environment in the plane is the worst cause it sucks out all the moisture from your skin. The one thing I’d spend on in airports without fail, is a bottle of water (or juice). The best you can do during flights is to drink plenty; and if you feel a bit extra like how I sometimes do, a facial mist spray comes in real handy. (I’m using the Innisfree Jeju sparkling mineral mist spray which can be found here http://www.innisfreeworld.com/product/productView.do?prdSeq=10700).

Not to forget light snacks if you don’t know when your next meal is gonna be. You’re not you when you’re hungry! I let my eyes rest before and during the flight, so no contact lenses for me; but I always have contact lens compatible eye drops ready with me cause I’ll definitely be using contacts when I land.

When you get to your destination, have some me-time in the evening to #rejuvenate. You gotta make sure you and your skin are 100% for the next few days of your trip. So give yourself some proper lovin’.

Top tip for not getting lost. One of the biggest help for me during my adventures was the app called maps.me. It’ll be a huge help when you don’t get WiFi where you’re going. The name itself is pretty self-explanatory to what it's used for. Firstly, download the map of the region(s) (a map of the entire country is a bit much unless you’re planning an "around the world in 80 days" kind of thing, or just have plenty of memory on your phone). Create your map on 'My Places' on Google Maps on your laptop, then pinpoint the spots you’d like to visit. Once you’re done with all that, download the map ('Download KML' on the left tab) and export it to maps.me on your phone. And your map is ready to be used offline. I have 4G with me most of the time now, but for those of you who don’t, try this!

If any of you have any questions for me, just leave your email behind in the 'Tell me' space, and I'll respond accordingly. Thanks for reading lovelies!

I've made my page more user-friendly so if you like the new layout, please show some love on the Say Hello page! I’ll be posting about my Turkey trip soon in the next few posts, so keep watching the space xx
