What I love about Christmas

Sleigh bells ringing, are you listening?

Christmas is my favourite time of the year;  Sometimes when there’s just so much going on in your life, you don’t stop to appreciate the little things.  So just pause for a second, take a breather and embrace the Christmas mood.

The Countdown Begins

Once we hit the 1st of December, I start counting the number of sleeps till we reach Christmas. I absolutely love the idea of advent calendars - a little surprise behind each door every day before the 25th. I'm not exactly bothered with what's in the advent calendar, more ecstatic about being able to unwrap these miniature goodies (I do kinda like the feeling of opening up things wrapped in tissue paper..).

Sending Wishes from Afar

I'll always appreciate the effort people have gone through to handwrite a card and that's why I want to deliver the same sincerity to everyone else. It just adds a more personal touch as compared to a text, don't you think?

I'm just a sucker when it comes to receiving anything in the post as long as it's not bank/bills-related.

It Smells Like Christmas

There’s no such thing as having too many candles in the house. Cause you can light one (or all) depending on the mood you’re feeling. It makes a great present too if you’re scratching your head doing last minute gift shopping!

Tree Decorating

Real or fake, big or small; the Christmas tree is always the highlight of the season. Putting up the decorations mark the start of festivities. And it’s not Christmas if you don’t have Michael Bublé playing in the background.

Sparkling Nights

It’s just lovely to see the streets lined with lights.  Winter in the UK gets dull especially with shorter days.  So this time of the year, when the lights are up, it’s definitely a sight not to miss!  Take the time to wander the streets with a cup of mulled wine in your hand, and you’re all set.

And the most important thing about Christmas, is spending it with loved ones.  Whether you have family near or far, spend the day with those who matter. Cause the true meaning about Christmas is the gift of giving - bringing joy to others.

So what do you love about Christmas?
